Like many bands in Austin, Edge City works from a core of players who play in several bands. These are the people you’re most likely to see with them at a show in Austin:
Jon Sanchez: (lead guitar) See “About the players on Keepers of the Flame”. He has traveled to the East Coast with Edge City enough times to consider himself an expert on Maryland Crabcakes. He is endorsed by Epiphone guitars.
Jeff Tveraas: (lead guitar, bass, drums, keyboards, mandolin) has played just about everything for Edge City. He is a fine songwriter in his own right, and Edge City often includes “This Guy Is Blue” in their acoustic shows. You can find that and other pop/rock songs on his “Cheshire Moon” CD.
Kenny Felton: (drums) grew up in Bloomington, Indiana, and studied drums there with Kenny Aronoff, John Mellencamp’s former drummer. He’s played with Delbert McClinton, The Platters, Tamasha Africana, W.C. Clark, the Beat Divas, and many others.
Rick Connell: (drums) has played and/or recorded with Chet Atkins, Ronnie Milsap, Steve Wariner, Lee Roy Parnell, Hal Ketchum, Albert & Gage, and way too many others to list. He currently plays with Erik Hokkanen.
Darcie Deaville: (fiddle, mandolin, octoblaster) See “About the players on Keepers of the Flame” and “About the players on “Mystery Ride”. Darcie played every show with Edge City for three and a half years, and you can still see her whenever they can work our schedules out. An amazing artist of great integrity in many, many fields.
Karen Mal: (mandolin) Karen played with Edge City for a while in 2002 and then reappeared to tour from Maryland to Bar Harbor, Maine in 2004. She is a terrific singer/songwriter who has won numerous awards at folk festivals across the country.
David Newbould: (lead guitar) David has his own band in Austin and has had his music featured on the soundtracks of “Dawson’s Creek” and “Joan of Arcadia”.
